Russell Mockridge (18 July 1928 - 13 September 1958) was a racing cyclist from Geelong, Victoria, Australia. He died during a race, in collision with a bus. "This is a compelling account of a legendary Australian sportsman; the death of the Olympic gold medallist and Tour de France competitor was an embarrassment for cycling officials. On the 50th anniversary of his death, Melbourne journalist Martin Curtis revisits the life and death of Russell Mockridge." (Publisher's blurb.)
