The board's edges are chipped and there is intermittent foxing throughout the book, particularly nasty with the preliminaries. Each fairy comes with a poem by Cicely Mary Barker accompanied by a tipped in plate , also by Cicely Mary Barker, and a song with musical notation written by Olive Linnell. There should be plates, but two are missing:' The Song of the Hazel-nut Fairy' and 'The Song of the Holly Fairy'. In its favor the pages are unmarked, the binding very good and the plates sharp.
