The boards is chipped at the edges and the paste down illustration on the front one has loss along the edges; the title page has minor foxing, two dust marks, Anderesen and the F in Fairy have both been neatly coloured in in pencil, BRUCE writ large towards the bottom, its verso sports a birthday dedication. Both hinges are cracked and the first three black and white illustrations have been coloured in as well as the one illustratingHolger the Dane. The back cover has a name label that causes less damage left there. The rest of the book is clean and the coloured plates sharp. No publishing date, it was gifted to Bruce in 1936. A good copy if you're a optimist, poor if you're a collector.
