There is a stain on both the front and back board. The one on the front cover is less obvious as it blends in with the illustration Both boards are also scratched and the paste on illustration is very discreetly beginning to bubble, so discreetly it is barely noticeable. The edges are chipped. Internally the book is immaculate, it's only fault that the full page illustration of the Beggar Maid has left a shadow on the following page. There is no publication date given, but there is an award sticker on the front end paper dated Decmber 1905. A very beautiful book.
