The spine is faded as is the front board along the outer edge and the back one at the tail; the red ink has bled discretly along the head of the front paste down up to the preface with decreasing severity; the front hinge is exposed, though the binding remains solid and there is mild, intermittent foxing throughout the book. Includes 8 black and white portrait plates. Overall a very good copy.
