The jacket's front flap has been clipped lengthwise; both paste downs are damaged caused by the rough removal of date due slips and similar(?), as is the front end paper, which has also been clipped at the head. The body of the book, the text, is clean, unmarked and the binding solid. "In 1786 Mary Bryant [nee Broad] was convicted of assault & robbery and sentenced to be hanged. She was subsequently transported to Sydney. In 1791 she escaped the convict settlement with her two children, her husband, William Bryant and 7 other felons."
