The Secret of the Missing Boat

Berna, Paul
140 pages. Translated from the French by John Buchanan-Brown. The book once belonged to Mt. Dandenong Primary School. Its stamp is on the title page and again on the last page. The book was covered in plastic, and this has left all sticky tape stain on the inside of the spine strip and a much lighter, smaller on the head and tail of the spine. The back end paper has a date due slip which shows that the book was borrowed once. This is obvious, as apart from the faults described, the book is in excellent condition, as though unread. First published in 1966, this is a second impression "The old fishermen in his part of Brittany used to call orphaned Fanch 'king of the Little Sea'. One day he salvaged a dinghy from the mud, and was amazed how many questions the police asked about it - until he discovered it wasn't the boat they were interested in, but vanished treasure."
