The boards are badly rubbed and stained and the print on the spine strip faded; there is intermittent foxing throughout the book, on page 160 the hinge is cracked, though the binding remains solid, a few pages are dog-eared and there's a gift inscription on the front end paper. It's not a pretty copy, and definitely not recommended for the perfectionist, but at nearly 100 years old, it shoes no sign of crumbling. First edition
