On the front cover: 'First Book on HERBS Published in Australia' The book has a gift inscription on the title page "To Correa compliment copy from the author" Correa is Jean Galbraith (1906-1999) often wrote under the pen-name 'Correa'. Her ownership inscription is also on the front paste down and on the front cover. The book has been heavily used. The covers are shelf stained and the lower outer edge bumped. The front hinge reinforced with clear tape, and the covers are not flush with the book, individual herbs flagged with an X. Pages 31 to 42, the middle pages, are loose, and pages 10-11 stained at the tail and there are other very small stains interspersed throughout the booklet. Page 3 has a short closed tear on the blank outside edge. It is not a pretty copy, but not as awful as I've made it sound. A first Australian herb book belonging to Jean Galbraith is surely part of Australia's gardening history.
