The jacket, now protected, is chipped at the edges, the front has two closed tears at the tail and a small chip missing, also at the tail. Internally the book is in excellent condition, apart from minor foxing to the fore-edge. "Jean-Baptiste Isabey, (born April 11, 1767, Nancy, France-died April 18, 1855, Paris), gifted French painter and printmaker, specializing in portraits and miniatures.
